Fees

The following 2026 tuition fees apply to the General English programme. A one-off enrolment fee of $275 and a materials fee of $75 apply in addition to the weekly tuition rates below.

Insurance is an additional compulsory cost; a monthly breakdown is available on the General English fees page.

Student Services

ABC College of English's Student Services team is based at the reception desk. Students can contact the team in person, through a teacher, or by emailing the Student Services Manager. ABC is a signatory to the Education (Pastoral Care of Tertiary and International Learners) Code of Practice 2021.

The team can assist students with the following:

• Personal or academic concerns: providing support for issues affecting study or wellbeing
• Bank account opening: assisting students in setting up a bank account
• Accommodation queries: helping students with accommodation-related questions
• Bullying, harassment and discrimination: addressing complaints or concerns in these areas
• Financial issues and advice: providing guidance on financial matters
• Course changes and extension requests: processing changes to enrolment or study timelines
• Health and wellbeing promotion: supporting students' holistic health and wellbeing
• Healthy relationships: supporting students in maintaining healthy interpersonal relationships

Accommodation

ABC College of English offers two accommodation options for students: on-site residence at Shotover Lodge and homestay placement. Homestay is subject to availability.

Shotover Lodge

Shotover Lodge is located at Arthur's Point, approximately seven minutes by bus from central Queenstown, at the base of Coronet Peak ski field. The college states that 95% of its students stay there. All rooms include an en-suite bathroom and shower, central heating, and a kitchenette with fridge, microwave, kettle and toaster. Each room has either a balcony or patio. Shared facilities include a commercial kitchen and a lounge with a pool table, fireplace, couches, television and dining tables. Car parking is available at $10 per week.

Most rooms are configured as twin share with two single beds. A limited number of single rooms are available on request. A placement fee of $400 per student, covering linen hire and cleaning, applies to all bookings. Room pricing is as follows:

A booking is not confirmed until ABC College receives full payment for course and accommodation fees, along with valid visa and flight details. Cancellation fees apply once a booking is confirmed: the placement fee is non-refundable in all cases; if cancellation occurs two weeks or less before check-in, the first two weeks of accommodation fees are also non-refundable. After check-in, the first four weeks are non-refundable, and students wishing to leave early must give two weeks' notice. Extensions are subject to availability and require full payment and at least two weeks' notice.

Homestay

ABC College places students with host families through its partner agency, Good Homestay. Students have their own room; the bathroom may be shared. All homestays include breakfast and dinner Monday to Friday, and all meals on weekends and public holidays. Host families are vetted by the school.
