About Coastguard Boating Education

Royal New Zealand Coastguard Education Ltd was established in 1979 as a non-profit organisation to deliver recreational boating courses across New Zealand. It is registered with the New Zealand Qualifications Authority as a category 2 Private Training Establishment.

The organisation's office is based at Westhaven. Training is delivered both in-person and online, with all venues operating under a Memorandum of Understanding setting out standards for safety, accessibility, and learning environments.
