About Taranaki Educare Training Trust

Admissions and Application Process

Taranaki Educare Training Trust uses a four-stage admissions process: eligibility check, Information Session, interviews, and acceptance.

Applicants must be New Zealand or Australian citizens, or hold permanent New Zealand residency, and be aged between 16 and 65. The Level 3 Education Support and Early Childhood programmes have no academic entry requirements, but all applicants must complete a literacy assessment.

Attendance at an Information Session is mandatory. Sessions are held several times per term. The process then involves up to three interviews:

  • Interview one — a brief (~five minute) meeting held at the Information Session
  • Interview two — an activity session assessing literacy and interpersonal skills
  • Interview three — a final interview; applicants under 20 are required to bring a support person

Successful applicants receive an acceptance letter stating enrolment and programme commencement dates. No application deadlines are specified.
