About Hillview Christian School

Hillview Christian School is a state-integrated Christian primary and secondary school located in Christchurch, New Zealand. It was founded in 1977 by the Evangelistic Church — later renamed South City Christian Centre — initially to serve families within that church community. For its first seventeen years the school operated as a closed-roll institution under the name St Martins Private School. It opened to pupils from outside the founding church in 1994, adopted the name St Martins Christian School in 1995, and became Hillview Christian School in 2001.

The school's roll cap is 570 students. Its community draws primarily from the east and south of Christchurch and includes more than 30 nationalities.

As a state-integrated school, Hillview operates under an Integration Deed that defines its Special Character.
