About Rere School
Rere School is a small state primary school in the Rere district, a farming community in the foothills of the Huiarau Range, inland from Gisborne. It teaches students from Year 1 to Year 8. The school takes its name from the Māori word for waterfall, reflecting its location near the Rere Falls and Rere rockslide on the Wharekōpae River.
The school was established in 1914, originally operating from the Rere Hall. It moved to its present site in 1939.
