Out-of-Zone Enrolments

Out-of-zone places are available subject to capacity and are advertised each term on the school's Facebook page. Where demand exceeds available places within a priority group, selection is made by ballot, with all applicants notified of the outcome within three working days of the ballot. The priority order for out-of-zone applicants is:

  • Siblings of current students
  • Siblings of former students
  • Children of former students
  • Children of Board employees or Board members
  • All other students

The school currently has no special programmes approved by the Secretary of Education, so the first statutory priority category does not apply. Further details are available on the school's enrolment page.

Cultural and Co-curricular Groups

Waverley Park School has a kapa haka programme structured into three groups by year level:

  • Teina (Junior Roopu) — led by Wiki Burdon, Justine Marley, and Jacqui Paulin
  • Tūwaenga (Middle Roopu) — led by Kaytlin Tomlins
  • Tuakana (Senior Roopu) — led by Raiha Johnson

Each group practises at its own set times during terms one, two, and three. In term four, all three groups combine for whole-school practice. The programme is open to all students regardless of cultural background, and each group has approximately 90 participants. The school has participated in Murihiku Polyfest every year since the event began in 2009.
